There might be some who are fans of both, but I'm not sure if a rodeo and a monster truck pull could really coexist. Wouldn't the vehicles frighten the horses?

Rodeo is dated way back, and is an American tradition. The animals are not hurt on purpose if they get hurt it is no ones fault, it is an accident. Its a way of life for many and people respect their animal partners. If they didnt they would'nt be making money. It is passed down from generation to generation and is a very emotional and wonderful sport.

it is an old argument that can easily be answered in a few words. if rodeo and other such "blood sports" were banished today rhere would be an immediate slaughter of thousands of animals that are living
protected comfortable lives. even if their owners loved and cherished them, which they do, they could not afford to keep them. an average string of rodeo horses and bulls are worth millions, and are virtually irreplacable. as for the roping, and steer wrestling events, this is not the case. these canimals are disposable and are treated accordingly. our society is a meat eating society, and in that respect we turn our heads away from the impossible to avoid brutality. as it has been said, its a rough world, so at least, each of us should take a look at what is on the end of his fork before eating it. i, personally rode horses and bulls for years before i got too old to continue: all through the late forties and fifties, and i witnessed very few serious injuries of bucking stock, but saw lots of injured cowboys. we all like meat. the meat business is a brutal one. if one owns a thousand head of half wild range cattle, one cannot tend to each animal individually. so eat up, and envy those bucking animals who work only minutes every year

If I were a Rodeo animal I'd have it made. The best care would be taken of me. I'd receive the best feed, nutrition and health care to help insure that I was healthy and could do my job. Hey for a handful of seconds I risk getting slammed or I get to do the slamming! It's a good trade seeing the altenative might be getting turned into soap or end up on a dinner table! My human friends get hurt more often than rodeo animals skiing, motor racing or playing ball sports! P.S. I found a new great shopping website...the folks their are Friends of Rodeo, www.bitnspur.com Check them out!!

I would be curious to hear your thoughts on how rodeo is cruel to animals. I am not taking a side one way or the other but I would be curious to hear how a rodeo enthusiast feels it is cruel to animals.
